Toddler & Children’s 2017 Summer Reading Program

June 10 – August 3

How it Works:
ages 0-3 track their early literacy activities with their caregivers

  • Complete 12 or more activities on the BINGO sheet
  • All babies and toddlers who return their BINGO sheets by the end of the
    program receive a free book and pool party tickets for the whole family.

Children ages 3-11 track their time read over the summer

  • For every 5 hours read, receive a drawing slip.
  • Enter the drawing of your choice (prize list available at the library).
  • The more you read, the more chances you have to win!
  • All children who return their reading logs by the end of the program receive a         free book and pool party tickets for the whole family.
  • No minimum to hand in your reading log, just do your best!

Summer reading programs are available for teens and adults as well.


Monday Movers  June 12— July 31
at 11:00 a.m.
Babies, toddlers and preschoolers can join in on this pumped up storytime  featuring catchy music, energetic movement, and loads of activities! (Ages 0-5)

Hard Hat Tuesdays  June 13—August 1 at 10:30 a.m.
Families are invited to take advantage of the library’s space to enjoy non-structured play with other families. Hard Hat time features sensory tactile toys, puzzles, building bricks,
manipulatives, and small crafts. (Ages 0-5)

Farmers’ Market Storytime  July 6—August 31 at 11:00 a.m.
The Grafton Public Library brings our storytime to the park to reach children outside the library and introduce them to the joy of reading! (Ages 0-5)

Toddler Bubble Dance Party   Wednesday, July 26 at 11:00 a.m.
Bubble machine! Bubble wands! Bubble wrap! Balloons! It’s bubble madness, and it’s all for your toddler! Bitty bubble fans are invited to get their wiggle on with songs and action rhymes led by your favorite librarians. (Ages 2-5) CLICK HERE TO REGISTER beginning June 10

School Age Children

Mad Science presents “Slime Time!”  Wednesday, June 21
at 1:00 p.m.
What time is it? Slime time! That’s right; this course is all about the gooey green glob of fun, better known as slime. You will learn about the ingredients needed to make a good ‘ol batch of slime. Participants will get to whip up several different slime recipes and use them in a series of fun games and activities known as the Slime Olympics! (Ages 7-11) REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS FULL.

Kidsplay!  Wednesday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m.
Family Fun Night at the Grafton Public Library presents an improve show like no other! “Fitting in Fitness” offers a completely unique and hilarious look into the world of health and fitness. Healthy living has never been this much fun! This highly interactive family event will provide you with an ab workout just from the fits of laughter. (Fun for the whole family!)

Moana Sing Along  Wednesday, July 5 at 11:00 a.m.
La LA la LA laaaaaa… Get your musical voices ready to watch this new Disney film Sing Along Edition!  All our musical guests will be provided with popcorn and leave with their very own lei craft. (Ages  3+)

Carnival Day  Wednesday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m.
Try your skill on the balance beam. Hunt for buried treasure. Take aim with rings, balls, and bags to win a prize or two. Make your best guess and go home with a (paper) goldfish in a bag. However you participate in our Carnival Day, just be sure to save time for
face painting by Evolutionz Face & Body Art!
(Ages 4-11)

Juggling Stories with Chris Fascione  Wednesday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m.
You’ll be laughing out loud as this nationally-known entertainer brings children’s stories to life. Fully of energy, humor, and imagination, he creates colorful characters through his unique combination of acting, storytelling, comedy, and juggling. (Ages 4-11)

All Summer Readers

Pool Party   Saturday, August 5 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
All summer readers, who turn in their reading logs, will have the opportunity to interact with Ms. Kim’s Amazing Animals and enjoy ice cream and swimming as a reward for all their hard work! (Ages 0-11)
